 Over the weekend, the NBA was rocked by a massive trade involving Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks. After months of speculation, Kyrie Irving is headed to Dallas to join the Mavericks. 

The deal was announced this morning and the Mavericks have acquired Kyrie Irving.

For the Mavericks, this deal is a major victory. Irving provides an immediate boost to the roster and gives the team another star to pair with Luka Dončić who, after an impressive rookie year, is looking to lead the Mavericks into the playoffs.

For the Nets, this deal provides a bit of questions in the short term in regards to the future of Kevin Durant.They are now missing one of their most important pieces, but they got a small haul in return and will have a some picks 4-6 years from now. 

While it remains to be seen how this trade will pan out, it definitely has the potential to shake up the basketball world. We will just have to wait and see how the Mavericks and Irving work together to end the season.
